Obama Should Be Given Credit for His Efforts in Easing the Foreclosure Crisis

Obama

Despite some drop in expectations, Obama should be given credit for his efforts in easing the foreclosure crisis.

With his hundred days in office having drawn to a close, questions are being posed about the problems that continue to exist among the Blacks. At a press conference questions were put by a reporter of BET (Black Entertainment Television). Mention was made of the double digit unemployment rat. In New York the unemployment among Black males is 50%. Also the foreclosure numbers, sub-prime mortgage melt down and access to health care continue to be major problems. The reporter wanted to be acquainted with the polices that would address these issues and if Obama had a time schedule for implementing these policies.

Replying in the affirmative Obama said he would start work on measures that would see to the problems of the weakest segments of American society – the Blacks and the Hispanics. He informed that the unemployment insurance had been extended as well as health care for those who face loss of jobs. President Obama explained, “When the economy lifts, all folks will benefit.” Obama also assured the reporter that the playing field is being leveled and strategies are being adopted that would benefit all in education, vocational training, tax concessions etc.

Many of the Blacks are concerned that they might again recede into the background as the recent crisis has hurt them the most. Thus they have a right in asking about issues that affect them the most. There is a strong belief that Obama has a strong grip on these issues. The Gallup polls show that he has been rated ‘A’.

Obama inherited major problems and acquired some new ones like Somalia pirates, drug wars in Mexico and the latest – the swine flu. Both he and his wife have been scrutinized relentlessly for signs of the virus!

His critics complain that the new President has been taxing the people excessively. As a result this generation will leave behind a gigantic debt for the next one. Some say he is a socialist while others accuse him of being a fascist. But despite all this brouhaha of Republican tea party gatherings and television chatter there is no denying that he has so far exhibited outstanding leadership. He is doing his level best to solve the problems left behind by the past and that he sincerely cares for the well being of all Americans.
