The local residents are clubbing together to stop the orgies and parties in vacant foreclosed houses. The Sheriff’s office of San Diego is hiring extra hands in trying to prevent all night orgies in vacant foreclosed units.
As per a news release by 10News in Encinitas Ranch Development a watch group comprising of neighbours have been formed and the leader of the group, Dick Stern, has no doubts about the target they are focusing on. Stern said, “It was quite disturbing seeing those aftermath of the parties.”

Last summer there was a flood of foreclosures in North County and the empty houses attracted the teens. The bacchanalian orgies left the costly houses badly mauled and littered with trash with the damage running into thousands of dollars.
The deputies are now determined to avoid a rerun. According to 10News the officers have contacted many watch groups in the county with a message. The crime-prevention officer for Encinitas sub-station is in touch with about 900 neighbourhood watch groups. The members of the group know their locality and immediately senses when something untoward is happening. Their cooperation and assistance is crucial to keeping in check such nuisances.

There has not been any significant problems in Encinitas Ranch but the region is now included among the many watch-groups patrolling localities. The group under Stern is keeping an eye on a couple of houses. It includes a house worth $.1.2 million that has been foreclosed and another one valued at $1 million that has been put up for short sale. Stern said, “Our resolve is we will do everything, working with the sheriff … that type of activity does not take place in Encinitas Ranch.”

The watch groups will take extra steps in monitoring the outside of the houses. If the banks fail to do its duty the homeowners association plans to step in firmly and place charges on the bank.

All this activity shows that the houses are not uncared for and this should be sufficient to put an end to wanton vandalism and orgies. Reacting to the news many felt that the watch groups should go about with sling shots to fly the message home. Another person did not agree as it might damage windows but suggested the use of paint-ball shooters to help the police later identify the culprits.

It highlights the necessity of proceeding with short sale to mitigate the rippling effects of the foreclosure crisis.
